LGBT Forum
Meeting Minutes
The Lambeth LGBT Forum aims to make Lambeth a safer and more enjoyable
place for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans people.
We meet regularly to discuss our concerns about a range of issues
relevant to our LGBT communities - at a local and national level.
We are action orientated and strive to act on these issues which may
include: writing a submission, taking part in a community event or
lobbying statutory services in the borough.
The Lambeth LGBT Forum is made up of LGBT people who are interested
in making the borough safer and improving services to the LGBT population.
Representatives from agencies such as the Metropolitan Police, Victim
Support, Lambeth Council, Health First and the Trade Union Council
also attend.
The forum meets monthly at the Brixton Town Hall. The first part
of the meeting is an hour long discussion on an issue that has been
identified by the forum and guests often attend. This is followed
by the Forum’s meeting for a further hour. People are welcome
to attend either one or both parts of the meeting.
Some of the topics already discussed at the Forum include: Civil
Partnerships, LGBT Matters Research with the Lambeth LGBT population,
Council housing provision, community safety and LGBT History Month.
